How to Link Portals

- 2Divide the X and Z coordinates by 8.
- 3Keep the Y coordinate (height) roughly the same, though it matters less.
- 4Build your Nether portal at these calculated coordinates to ensure they link perfectly.

Why did my portal spawn a new one?
If you don't build the matching portal at the exact divided coordinates, the game searches for the closest one. If none are close enough, it generates a new one, breaking your link.

Does Y level matter?
Y level (height) is not divided by 8. However, if multiple portals are close in X/Z, the game will pick the one closest in height.
